We are very proud of our Board at UCH.  They come together to lead and guide Unity Center.  Connecting to Spirit through prayer and centering starts each session.  The vision is held and opened to Spirit so that the purpose of Unity Center is kept in alignment Spirit.   Each of the board members is dedicated to their spiritual path, of which A Course In Miracles is a part, and to Unity Center.

Together they direct the operations as they serve our spiritual community.  We are proud to introduce them to you and invite you to get to know them in person.

Board President,
Rev. Walter Davis, Ph.D.

We are honored to have, as our board President, a man of such repute as Rev. Dr. Davis, who accented his career by earning Kent State Universities' 2010 Distinguished Teacher Award and now holds the position of Professor Emeritus.   His dedication to this community did not begin with his election to the board.
Rev. Dr. Davis took an active roll from the moment he arrived.  He has not only been supportive of our classes, workshops and events, but has also been an active participant.

Rev. Dr. Davis has also taken on the task of developing and managing our bookstore, which he has expanded greatly in the way of books, CDs, DVDs, other forms of metaphysical and spiritual information and gift items. As a student of A Course In Miracles, Rev. Dr. Davis makes sure that there is ample Course related material available, much to our delight.

Rev. Dr. Davis's dedication is also reflected in his service as one of Unity Center's Spiritual Practitioners and in his own words about this position:
"My decision to pursue degrees in Metaphysical Science came from my desire to learn more and to have an opportunity to be of service to others. In particular, I wanted to participate in the Unity Center of the Heights’ Practitioners program to give something back to a spiritual community that’s given me so much. I believe this service is part of my calling – I’m inspired to serve this community in any capacity I can. It’s an honor and privilege to be part of a group of such wonderful, loving, kind and joyous people."

Vice President, Rev. Bill Ramsey

Rev. Bill grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio suburb of Bedford and now resides in Walton Hills.  In the interim, Rev. Bill spent 21 years in the military service and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, where his final assignment was heading a cooking school in CA.  Among his culinary accolades are being a certified pastry chef and an accomplished chocolateer.

Rev. Bill has spent the last several years studying and working with Theodore A. Baroody M.A., D.C., N.D. Ph.D. Nutrition, Diplomat of Acupuncture.  His years of study and training, as well as his desire to be of service to others, have led Rev. Bill to become a certified Holographic Health Practitioner with an active practice.

Rev. Bill also serves on the Board of the largest Ohio chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and was President of a chapter of the Lions Club.  His knowledge, leadership skills and desire to learn and grow spiritually, among other qualities, make Rev. Bill a valuable asset to the UCH Board of Directors.

Azizi Lynch, Secretary

Azizi brings a light to Unity Center. When she performs a sacred dance for a Sunday Morning Service, everyone is touches.  She also tithes of her time and talent by serving on our volunteer teams.  But there's more to Azizi.

Treasurer, Leslie Fortney

Leslie was born in Fairview Park, Ohio, and has lived in the Cleveland area most of her life. Having been the youngest of four, and only child, and the age of 12, the oldest of three, she has a unique perspective on childhood and what it means to be part of a family such as what we are creating at Unity.

As a licensed Intervention Specialist with a M. Ed. and 20 plus years of experience,
Leslie has worked with countless numbers of children in regular and special education environments.  Prior to her career in education she also managed local movie theaters, with all the myriad of responsibilities including personnel, advertising and customer service.

As a member of Unity, she participates in many activities at the Center, such as: Choir, ACIM, Beyond Forgiveness, Quantum Abundance Classes, and as a UYO Volunteer, just to name a few. In addition to the personal spiritual growth that she has acquired, she has proven that she is a committed member of this spiritual community and has the dedication and desire to continue to support the growth of Unity Center by becoming a board member.

Kathlyn Beaumier, Board Member

Kathlyn is a proud native of Cleveland, growing up in the Collinwood area, and currently resides in the more rural setting of Bainbridge.

Kathlyn's desire to be of service is evidenced in her career as a physical therapist.  A part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System for over fifteen years, Kathlyn is currently the Senior Staff Physical Therapist at Huron Hospital in East Cleveland.  Prior to her career change, Kathlyn spent two years in the classroom as an elementary school teacher.

Kathlyn is a real participant at Unity Center.  Taking part in the various workshops, classes and events, singing in the choir, blessing us with an occasional solo are just part of her participation.  Kathlyn also runs our audio booth on Sunday mornings and at all of the major and minor events.  But it doesn’t stop there.

Kathlyn is a real “lead by example” leader when it comes to her tithe.  She not only tithes of her time and talent, as mentioned earlier, but she is vigilant to the tithing of her treasure.  In town or away, present and healthy or home with a cold, Kathlyn makes sure her tithe gets in.  Participant and leader at Unity Center, Kathlyn is an enhancement to the board.
